TuCasa is a private booking platform built for families, close friends, and colleagues. Think of it as if LinkedIn and Airbnb had a baby. Our goal is simple. Remove the friction from home sharing by giving people simple tools to coordinate private stays. No more messy group chats or Slack channels, awkward conversations about availability, or uncertainty around what to bring or cover.
In my twenties, I moved around the world, from Los Angeles to Amsterdam and then to London. Today, I call New York home. I’ve been fortunate to have family and friends who have loved and supported me unconditionally. Many of my most meaningful memories were created with them. Looking back, they are the reason I’m here today and the reason I continue building what I love.
TuCasa comes from that place. Many of my friends opened their homes to me and treated me like one of their own. I’ve seen how much sharing what you care about can change the way you connect with others. You discover new perspectives, new cultures, and new flavors along the way. TuCasa is my attempt to make it easier for people to open their homes, share what they have, and create lasting memories with the people who matter most.
Managing vacation homes or guest rooms among friends and family sounds easy, but it usually becomes a mess. Even with people you're close to, things get confusing fast. Is the place actually available? Did someone else already book it? How much should you chip in? It's awkward, and most booking platforms don't help because they're designed for strangers, not people who already trust each other.
Mexico City, Summer 2024
I got the idea for TuCasa when I was planning a trip to visit my mentor in Mexico City. He and his wife had just bought a place in La Condesa with a guest room they liked to keep open for friends and family. I knew I was welcome, but I still felt weird about it. I didn't know if the room was available, how long I could stay, or if I should offer to pay for the cleaner. We sorted it all out over WhatsApp. Later he told me he had basically the same conversation with every single guest.
San Francisco, Fall 2024
Around that time, a friend told me about a double booking disaster at his family's Tahoe place. It happened because everyone was just texting in different group chats, making assumptions, and there was no real system.
New York, Spring 2025
Things got clearer when I moved to New York for work and noticed there's a channel for sublets and rentals in the company Slack. It was so hard to filter through the dates or locations. I kept thinking, what if I could see Slack channels from other companies too and have way more options?
That's when it clicked. People already want to share their homes. They just need better tools to make it work. TuCasa fills that gap. We're building something that makes private hosting simple and fits how people actually share space with the people they trust.
We're in beta and offering TuCasa free while we build the perfect platform for families and close friends.
